Now we have official numbers for the gas-only compact crossover, and it starts under $31,000\. Although powered strictly by an internal combustion engine, the 2027 Sportage receives the same core updates as the hybrid and PHEV variants, but at a substantially lower price point.

With a starting price of $30,485, the 2027 Kia Sportage gives buyers a chance to take home a compact crossover with their powertrain of choice. All-wheel drive is available on every carryover trim, adding $1,800 to the front-wheel-drive equivalent. The only two trims without a drivetrain choice are the off-road-oriented variants: the $36,285 X-Line and the $41,385 X-Pro, both of which come exclusively with AWD. Between those two, the X-Line serves primarily as an off-road appearance package riding on 19-inch wheels, whereas the X-Pro adds functional trail gear such as 17-inch [alloy wheels](https://carbage.online/what-is-alloy-wheel-cast-flow-formed-forged/), all-terrain tires and drive modes calibrated specifically for off-pavement traction.

Across most trims, pricing rises just $350 compared to 2026\. The X-Line is the main exception, jumping $1,850 due to newly standard equipment: a panoramic sunroof and a power liftgate.

As a purely gas-powered model, the 2027 Sportage starts $1,600 below the Sportage Hybrid and $11,600 below the PHEV. The plug-in variant comes only in X-Line AWD and X-Line Prestige AWD trims; matching trim-for-trim reveals that the PHEV actually carries a $5,800 premium over its gas counterpart. Although there is no direct gas-only equivalent to the PHEV X-Line Prestige AWD, the closest comparisons are the $39,885 SX-Prestige AWD ($8,500 less than the PHEV) and the X-Pro ($7,500 less than the flagship PHEV).

### New Features for the 2027 Kia Sportage

The 2027 gas Sportage trims match the technological updates found across the hybrid lineup. Standard equipment includes LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, a tire repair kit, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker audio system. Standard advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) include dynamic cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, forward collision avoidance, automatic high-beam assist, lane keeping assist and lane following assist.

Stepping up to the 2027 X-Line trim adds a standard panoramic sunroof, Smart Power Liftgate and Road Rider Brown exterior paint available in single-tone or with a contrasting two-tone roof. Additional standard amenities include 19-inch wheels, a compact spare tire, amber LED daytime running lights, automatic headlights, power-adjustable heated side mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, hydrographic wood center console trim, a wireless phone charger with an integrated cooling fan, LED interior lighting, a 10-way power driver's seat and a four-way manual heated front passenger seat wrapped in SynTex synthetic leather. Standard ADAS upgrades include blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist and safe exit warning.

The 2027 Sportage X-Pro swaps the 19-inch wheels for 17-inch alloys wrapped in 235/65R17 all-terrain tires (measuring 29 inches in total diameter). It also gains cube-style LED headlights, matte black fender flares, raised gloss-black roof rails, a curved 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an eight-way power front passenger seat, ventilated front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, Kia Digital Key 2.0 and a premium Harman Kardon sound system with a dedicated center speaker and subwoofer. Its expanded safety suite adds navigation-based smart cruise control with curve control, front and rear parking sensors, reverse parking collision avoidance, a surround-view monitor and a blind-spot view monitor.

Under the hood sits a 2.5-liter I-4 engine delivering 187 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque across every trim. Transmission options vary by drive configuration: FWD models utilize Kia’s eight-speed [dual-clutch transmission (DCT)](https://carbage.online/what-is-the-dual-clutch-transmission/), whereas AWD variants employ a conventional eight-speed torque-converter automatic. Regardless of gearbox, the 2027 Sportage is rated to tow up to 2,500 pounds with trailer brakes, or 1,653 pounds without.
