Set for Aug. 20-22, the Smoky Mountain Invasion marks its 14th annual event celebrating all things related to Jeeps and off-roading on the trails of the Great Smoky Mountains in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Jeep noticed this massive gathering of up to 50,000 enthusiasts and chose it as the ideal backdrop to unveil the 10th release of its Twelve 4 Twelve series: the 2027 Wrangler Smoky Mountain Special Edition. Built on the Willys four-door trim, the new special edition comes standard with 33-inch tires, body-color exterior components, and unique badges for just under $57,000.

A Smoky Mountain High Inspiration

Key Facts: Unique 17-inch Wheels | Smoky Mountain Hood Graphics | 35-inch BFGoodrich Tires Optional

Available in multiple colors, the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Smoky Mountain Edition also comes standard with body color matched fenders and a hardtop.

This special edition 2027 Jeep Wrangler arrives equipped with body-color components typically reserved for higher trims than the Willys. The hardtop and fender flares match the available body colors: black, ’41, Granite Crystal, Bright White, Joose, Earl, Firecracker Red, and Hydro Blue. Smoky Mountain graphics adorn the hood, and the 17-inch alloy wheels are unique to the package, finished in Smoky Black. Those wheels wear standard 33-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, though buyers can opt for 35-inch versions for an extra charge. Black tow hooks, steel rock rails, and a standard trailer hitch complete the exterior package.

Unique Smoky Interior Touches

Key Facts: Standard Heated Front Seats and Steering Wheel | 1941 Parachute Willys Embossed on the Upper Seat Bolsters | Unique Bear and Cub Shifter Medallion

The shifter medallion on the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Smoky Mountain Edition features a mother black bear and cub motif, nodding towards the usual wildlife found in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Step inside the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Smoky Mountain Special Edition, and you will not find a baseline Willys cabin. One of the distinct touches is a shifter medallion featuring a mother bear and cub, nodding to the American black bears native to the East Tennessee mountains.

The seats showcase premium Black Ferndale cloth with aggressive side bolsters finished in Black Soulmate. The upper seat bolster features an embossed 1941 Willys parachute graphic, highlighting its place in the “drop” collection. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel come standard alongside automatic dual-zone climate control and a universal garage door opener.

An Addax technical pattern wraps the instrument panel, complemented by Terracotta accent stitching across all interior fabrics. Blaze Orange metallic accents introduce a pop of color, balanced by carbon-anodized trim rings for a smoked finish. The final detail sits out back on the swing gate plaque, featuring the 1941 Willys drop motif set against a starry night sky, the Smoky Mountains, and another mother bear and cub graphic.

A Choice of Engines, but a Locking Dana 44 Rear Axle is Standard

Key Facts: Dana 44 Rear Comes Standard with a Locker | 4.10:1 Gearing | Choice of a Pentastar V-6 or 2.0-Liter Turbo I-4

Although the 3.0-liter Pentastar V-6 has more power, the 2.0-liter option for the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Smoky Mountain Edition offers more torque.

Buyers can select from two powertrain options for the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Smoky Mountain. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 delivers 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, whereas the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four produces 270 hp with an extra 35 lb-ft of torque (395 lb-ft total). Both engines pair with the TorqueFlite 850RE eight-speed automatic transmission and the Selec-Trac transfer case for full-time four-wheel drive.

Power routes to Dana 44 axles running 4.10:1 gearing, with a selectable locking differential fitted to the rear axle.
