Frugal luxury buyers monitor their pocketbooks like helicopter parents, fully aware that the cheapest long-term ownership option is an electric vehicle (EV) like the Tesla Model Y. But for buyers not ready to make that full leap, the 2027 Lincoln Corsair Hybrid offers a balanced alternative: the efficiency of electrification paired with the long-range flexibility of a gas engine for just under $49,000. The headline change for 2027? Assembly is no longer based in the U.S.

The 2027 Lincoln Corsair Hybrid Is Made in China

The Lincoln Corsair had been manufactured at the Louisville, Kentucky, assembly plant since its 2019 debut. In late 2025, Ford retooled the plant for the new Ford Fathom EV pickup, sunsetting domestic assembly for both the Corsair and the Ford Escape.

But the U.S. was not the only market for Lincoln’s smallest luxury crossover. Ford began assembling the vehicle for the Chinese market at its Chongqing joint-venture plant in May 2020. Because Chongqing is now the only facility actively producing the crossover, Ford will import U.S.-bound inventory directly from China despite substantial import tariffs.

The Cost of the 2027 Corsair Hybrid Is $48,790, Up $3,515

And those import tariff costs begin to appear directly in the updated destination fee. The U.S.-built 2026 Corsair carried a $1,495 destination charge; for 2027, that fee rises by $800 to $2,295.

Comparing trims like-for-like presents a slight challenge because the only hybrid setup offered for 2026 was the Grand Touring PHEV. The base $48,790 2027 Corsair Hybrid Premier costs $3,515 more than the 2026 Premier AWD ($2,715 excluding the destination fee). Adding a hybrid powertrain typically accounts for a $1,000 to $2,000 premium on Ford crossovers (with the Maverick being an exception where gas-only models cost more), and that has held steady between 2025 and 2026 model year vehicles. Import duties likely account for the rest of the price hike.

Buyers targeting the top-tier Reserve trim will fare slightly better than those who purchased the 2026 Corsair Grand Touring PHEV. By swapping the plug-in hybrid architecture and its larger traction battery for a traditional hybrid setup, the $55,790 2027 Reserve is $1,565 cheaper; however, buyers lose the 27 miles of pure-electric driving range. Comparing the 2026 Reserve AWD directly to the 2027 hybrid counterpart reveals an increase of $2,860.

Budget-conscious shoppers take the biggest hit as dropping the FWD base models drives the entry price up by $5,815.

The biggest mechanical upgrade for 2027 is standard all-wheel drive paired with Ford’s Powersplit electronic continuously variable transmission (e-CVT). Rather than relying on a belt-driven setup, this proven planetary-gear architecture blends output from a 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 with an electric traction motor and generator. A dedicated power takeoff unit (PTU) manages power transfer to the rear wheels, using a mechanical clutch that decouples the rear driveshaft when extra traction is unnecessary to maximize efficiency.

The combined system produces 305 hp and approximately 295 lb-ft of torque. Lincoln has not published official EPA fuel economy ratings for the 2027 Corsair Hybrid, but the larger Nautilus Hybrid features a comparable setup that yields 30 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined. The smaller, lighter Corsair should match or slightly exceed those numbers.

Ford has also made BlueCruise 1.5 standard equipment. This hands-free SAE Level 2 Plus system manages steering, acceleration, and braking on pre-mapped highways and interstates in the U.S. As a Level 2 driver-assist system, it requires full driver attention at all times. BlueCruise 1.5 adds automated lane changes to pass slower traffic alongside driver-initiated changes via the turn indicator.

Unlike Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) software with its $99 monthly subscription fee, Ford offers BlueCruise access via a seven-year package for $2,495, annually for $495, or monthly for $49.99 (the latter two include a three-month trial). However, buyers of the 2027 Corsair Hybrid receive four years of complimentary BlueCruise access as well as the Lincoln Connectivity Package. This bundle turns the vehicle into a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot (with up to 50 GB per 30-day billing cycle and supporting up to 10 devices simultaneously) and enables over-the-air (OTA) software updates. Four years of Lincoln Security is also included, offering vehicle location tracking, theft monitoring, and remote start-inhibit capabilities.

Both the Premier and Reserve trims offer identical exterior paint selections. Infinite Black Metallic is the sole no-cost option and optional paint charges run from $750 (Nocturnal Blue Metallic, Tinted Copper Metallic, and Manhattan Green Metallic) to $950 (White Platinum Metallic Tri-Coat) to $2,000 (Chroma Flame Red Metallic).

Buyers can also equip either trim with the $2,500 Jet Appearance Package, which adds high-gloss black finishes to the fender badging, upper grille, window trim molding, and door spear accents. Lower body cladding and wheel arch moldings are painted body-color. When paired with the $1,820 panoramic Vista Roof, the package also finishes the roof rails in gloss black.

Package specifications differ slightly between trims: Premier models require the $3,500 Premier II equipment package and ride on 19-inch black painted wheels, whereas Reserve models upgrade to 20-inch black painted wheels and add Pillar Black accents across the fascia and bumper trim.

Equipment Differences: Premier vs. Reserve

Distinguishing between the Corsair Premier and Reserve trims comes down to convenience and luxury content. On the outside, the Premier features 18-inch bright machined wheels with a Dark Tarnished finish, whereas the Reserve steps up to 19-inch bright machined wheels with a Magnetic Gray finish, adaptive LED headlights with Signature Bending Lamps, rain-sensing wipers, body-color lower cladding, and a hands-free power liftgate.

Inside, the Corsair Premier includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, a 13.2-inch center touchscreen running Sync 4, a Lincoln Premium audio system, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, four-way front headrests, a 60/40-split sliding/reclining manual folding rear bench, and ambient interior lighting. Color schemes include Ebony and Medium Light Space Gray at no extra charge.

The Reserve trim adds premium leather seating surfaces with micro-perforated inserts, heated and ventilated front seating, a heated steering wheel, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column with memory presets, expanded ambient lighting, Phone As A Key capability, EasyFold power-releasing rear seatbacks, and a wireless smartphone charging pad. The Reserve also unlocks the optional Stellar Sun tan cabin colorway alongside the standard Ebony and Medium Light Space Gray interiors at no added cost.
